Important Note on Prices and Sectors:
The StrataSearch installation contains sample prices for this Quick Start
tutorial, and we recommend completing this tutorial before importing any new
prices or sectors. However, if you decide to import new prices and sectors, make
sure you initiate this tutorial using a
Sector
of roughly 100 stocks. A larger Sector may require significantly more
time than the tutorial expects.

Step 1: Open the Run Combinations dialog
Let's get started! To start your search,
first open the Run > Run Combinations menu or click the Run
Combinations button:
Step 2: Configure the Search
On the Run Combinations dialog, set
a OneClick search for Small Sector Search:
Step 3: Click Start
Next click the Start button on the
Run Combinations dialog. That's it! StrataSearch will now search for a winning
trading system for you.
Step 4: Using the Processor
As you watch the Processor window,
you'll be able to see the search progressing. You can see the different
individual strategies it's building and evaluating, and you can see the speed at
which it evaluates all the symbols. You can also watch the number of Runs
it's completed.
If you'd like, you can close the
Processor window as needed. You'll know the Processor is still
running when the green light in the toolbar is flashing:

You can always reopen the Processor window by using the Display > Processor
menu, or simply clicking the Processor button:

Step 5: While You Wait...
During the next 3 days, StrataSearch will
continuously build and evaluate trading strategies for you, assembling them into
an efficient multi-system. But make sure you leave your computer on and running
for the next 3 days, and disable any power-saving features on your computer. You
can certainly stop and restart StrataSearch as needed, especially if you need to
use your computer for other things during this time.
The next step of the tutorial comes after
one full day. So what can you do until then? Now would be a great time to
explore some of StrataSearch's great charts. Yes, you can still use them even
while the OneClick Search is processing. StrataSearch's attractive charts
have many features, allowing you to view different styles such as standard bars,
candlesticks, Renko, Equivolume, Kagi and more. You can also set periodicity,
add calculations, draw trendlines, and add indicators. To get started, open the
Display > Charts menu, or visit the
Charts
Help.
Tip: You'll
soon notice that StrataSearch has a Help Button on every single window.
If you'd like specific help for the window you're examining, simply click the
help button on that window.

There are many brief clips showing you how to do a large range of tasks in
